- Beaches close to the Berth
In only about 10 comfortable walking minutes, seen from the port terminal, you can reach the nearby city beach St. Francis. The fine sand and clear water invite you to relax. The nearest larger beach section is Trottel Beach, which is about 1 kilometre away. The sand of the Plage Trottel is mainly coarse grained. You can also reach it with the bus line 2 and 5.
- More Beaches
Other recommendable beaches, all of which can be easily reached by bus line 5, is the Barbicaja Beach, the beach section of the Plage d 'Ariadne / Palm Beach / Marinella Beach and the further situated Moorea Beach. Good refreshment facilities in the nearby restaurants are available at all beaches. Also the prices for sunbeds and parasols are the same. 2 sunbeds and 1 umbrella are available for 25 € per day on average. Occasionally it is possible to negotiate lower prices for a few hours rent.
- Pissotti Beach
From the nearby train station, you can also take the airport bus number 8 to the long beach of Pissotti near Ajaccio Airport.
- Maison Bonaparte
The Musée de la Maison Bonaparte, Napoleon's birthplace, is located at 1 rue Saint-Charles, a house that is now a listed building and was occupied by the Bonaparte family for a long time. Some of the rooms can be visited. The regular entrance fee is 7 Euros. Reduced 5 euros. Anyone aged 25 years or younger has free access to the rooms. Opening hours April to September from 10:30-12:30 and from 13:15-18:00.
- Shopping
The pedestrian zone in the Rue du Cardinal Fesch accommodates many shops, nice restaurants and lures with its cosy atmosphere to stroll.
- Gallery Fesch
The Musée Fesch is located approximately in the centre of the Rue du Cardinal Fesch. It accommodates approximately 1200 paintings and is therewith the biggest museum of Ajaccio. The library that is also worth seeing is accommodated in the two side wings.
- Marketplace
On the centrally located Place Foch, near the jetty, a small market is held regularly until 12 noon. There you can buy all kinds of fresh goods. Also, the two tours of the small tourist train and the city tour with the open yellow double-decker bus start from here.
- Napoleon Monument
The statue of the fountain at Place Foch shows Napoleon as emperor, guarded by four water-spouting lions. About 1.3 km from Place Foch, there is an imposing Napoleon monument at Place d'Austerlitz. From the base of the huge bronze statue, one has a great view over Ajaccio and the sea. In a nearby grotto, Napoleon is said to have come here as a child, often to play.
- Cathedral
The cathedral of Ajaccio is located at the Rue Forcioli Conti. Napoleon was baptized here. The catholic church building is open daily from 08:30-11:30 for interested visitors.
- Iles Saguinaires
With the bus of the line 5 one gets to the Iles Saguinaires that are approximately 11 km distant. The route follows the coastal road, from Av.
Docteur Ramaroni (near the Place de Gaulle at the Spar supermarket) in Ajaccio, past beautiful sandy beaches, to the final stop Parata, on the peninsula of the same name. During
the day the bus runs almost every hour. It takes 30 minutes for one direction and currently costs 1 Euro per person. The travel expenses are to be paid by the driver. When the buses are fully
occupied, they pass the bus stops. It is therefore advisable to return to not wait for the last bus.
- La Parata
The Genoese tower Tour de la Parata, built in 1551, stands on a rocky outcrop of the peninsula La Parata. It is not possible to visit the interior, but the view from the bottom of the tower is worthwhile. The bus stop of the bus line 5 is approximately 1000m away. The Petit Train, as well as the sightseeing bus drive a little closer to the tower.
- Tourist Train Sightseeing
In front of the town hall of Ajaccio, on Place Foch, a "Petit Train" starts between 10:00 and 17:00 (March to October). With this little train you can explore Ajaccio and its surroundings on two routes. Departure is every 45 minutes. The "Circuit Ville" route goes through the city and takes 45-50 minutes, including a 15-minute stop at the Napoléon Grotto (Napoléon monument at Place d'Austerlitz). The price is 7 euros for the adult and 4 euros for children from 3 to 9 years. The "Circuit Iles Sanguinaires" route also follows the coastal road to the Tour de la Parata and takes about an hour and 30 minutes, including a 15-minute stop at the Napoléon Grotto and the Sanguinaires. Adults pay 10 euros and children from 3 to 9 years half price.
- Sightseeing Bus
The yellow sightseeing bus also starts its two tours at Place Foch. The small tour takes 45 minutes and costs 7 Euros. The larger tour leads to the Sanguinaires with a 20 minute photo stop at the islands. The total duration is 80 minutes and costs 10 Euro per person.
- E-Bikes
Currently available excursions and e-bike tours from 20 Euro per person, can be booked at Viator. The provider for the electric bikes is located only about 200 meters from the Cruise Terminal.
- Bicycle Rental
LSP 2 Roues is a local bike rental company located only 400 meters from the port terminal. Just follow the Boulevard Sampiero on the right hand side. After about 5 minutes you will reach the branch. There you can rent classic bikes, e-bikes and scooters.
- Turtle Park
The turtle park A Cupulatta is about 23 km away from Ajaccio. By rental car or taxi it takes about half an hour for one direction. Entrance costs 11 Euro per adult. Children between 5 and 11
years pay 8 Euro. For children under 5 years the entrance is free.
